Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
My pressure range is light to deep. Feel free to bring your own oil and music.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness affects the lymphatic system. Lymphatic massage gently and rhythmically moves the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, Lymphatic massage can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury or surgery, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the lower layers of the musculature. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is important.
Side-Lying and Pregnancy massage makes use of bolsters and pillows to make our clients feel comfortable and secure in right or left side-lying position. This allows those who may have physical conditions that make stomach (prone) or back (supine) positions uncomfortable to be able to receive massage therapy.
Cupping is a simple treatment using suction cups to create negative pressure on and below the skin's surface. The effect is that of opening lymphatic pathways, bringing hydration and blood flow to the tissue, thus allowing the body to release and drain excess fluids and toxins. Cupping has been documented to help relieve myriad issues including: acute and chronic pain; lymphedema; cellulite; fibromyalgia; scar appearance; adhesions; respiratory complaints; nerve impaction; facial appearance; weight loss; etc..
I received my training from ACE Massage Cupping and their cupping is gentle and yet still very effective. I do NOT practice the Traditional Chinese Medical cupping which is known for leaving "circles" on the skin. ACE cupping begins by a gentle suction and release and proceeds to gliding or the use of other cupping techniques. Most clients leave the session with no redness though a temporary "cup kiss" may be evident for a short period.
This enhancement is provided at no extra cost. All that we ask is that you request cupping when you book your appointment.
Thai foot massage is a wonderfully stimulating and relaxing blend of Chinese Reflexology, Thai acupressure, and 'Sen line' work. I use a special Thai balm and a variety of hands-on techniques along with a Thai stick made from teak to stimulate organ reflex points on the soles of the feet. My clients leave feeling relaxed, balanced, and invigorated. Sessions can range from 15 to 60 minutes. 60 minute sessions include a foot soak and scrub.
Mother's Hands Therapeutic Massage LLC uses essential oil to enhance the massage experience. Our basic go-to's are Lavender for relaxation, Peppermint for added pep, or Eucalyptus for help with congestion. Feel free to ask about other options or provide your own. I typically add the essential oil to the massage medium so that you receive a full body aromatherapy treatment. Aromatherapy is provided at no extra charge. All we ask is that you add this when booking your appointment.
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage in which I massage with heated stones or place them at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating. Hot Stone Therapy is an enhancement that is provided during the session at no charge. All we ask is that you tell us when scheduling your session.
Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
